MUSCAT: Recognising the benefits to be derived from increased collaboration, cooperation and interaction, The Zubair Corporation (Z-Corp) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Muscat University. The MoU provides an opportunity for Z-Corp and Muscat University to collaborate and exchange expertise in common areas of interest. The agreement was signed by Rashad bin Mohammad al Zubair, Chairman, The Zubair Corporation, and Prof Yusra Mouzughi, Vice-Chancellor, Muscat University.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior management team from both parties Z-Corp and Muscat University.

As part of its ongoing efforts in exploring avenues of the strategic partnership with education institutions, Z-Corp has signed a MoU with Muscat University to reconnoitre areas of develop cooperation in areas including innovation, scientific research studies, human development and exchange of expertise. More so recently, a similar Letter of Understanding (LoU) has been signed with SQU, to tap potential areas of knowledge and enhancement of mutual benefits.

The MoU defines the areas in which Z-Corp and Muscat University will work together in the future for their mutual benefit to foster a collaborative framework. This initiative will provide both parties the ability to effectively collaborate in several business areas. It also aims to encourage and develop cooperation in areas of innovation research and knowledge enhancement.

Speaking about the signing, Rashad bin Mohammad al Zubair said, “We are delighted to collaborate with Muscat University, one of the leading universities in Oman.

“This MoU opens a lot of new opportunities for joint pursuits in several areas. Both parties can utilise their capability, professionalism and expertise to deliver and drive several initiatives.”

Prof Yusra Mouzughi said, “Muscat University is pleased to partner with a leading business conglomerate Z-Corp to explore and work together on concepts across a range of disciplines and shared challenges. The MoU also provides an opportunity for our students to be involved in internships and projects at Z-Corp by which they can develop their skills and knowledge through hands-on experience.”

The MoU will focus on development of training courses delivered to Z-Corp and its staff besides facilitating and coordinating joint research cooperation. It will cover consulting, engagement and curriculum development sessions fulfilling the needs of the Z-Corp. The MoU seeks to organise seminars, academic interactive session and other professional development activities of interest to both companies.

Z-Corp shall provide internship programmes for a mutually agreed number of students from selected disciplines. It has plans to support unique project by students to enable them establishes their own business.
