SUHAR: Sohar University organised a programme for new students joining the University for the academic year 2018-2019 on Tuesday at the Learning Resources Center on campus. Professor Barry Winn, VC of the University, in his speech welcomed the students and encouraged them to participate in the various student initiatives and activities. He explained that the academic and administrative staff of the University are present to provide all the services needed by the students.

Dr Hamdan al Fazari, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Resources, spoke about the campus and its annexes and the services provided to the students.

The programme also included the participation of the Student Advisory Council represented by student Ahmed al Jessi, the former Council Head, who delivered a speech in which he spoke about the importance of the council, its role and importance and the need to communicate with the council, which represents a link between the students and the University administration. Khalil al Farsi from the Ministry of Higher Education spoke about the regulations and laws that students must be aware of and the electronic services provided by the ministry to students.
