Muscat, Demonstrating continuous support to the Sultanate’s vision to secure a skilled, competent and job ready workforce for the oil and gas, and energy industries, Takatuf Oman, the Human Capital solutions provider, wholly owned by Oman Oil Company (OOC), in partnership with Petrofac, a world leading oilfield services provider with almost four decades of experience in the development of training and competence programmes and facilities, inaugurated a state-of-the-art institute; Takatuf Petrofac Oman (TPO), located in Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM).

The inauguration ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad al-Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas, and was attended by their excellencies and officials from the oil and gas industry.

TPO, a 60:40 joint venture between Takatuf and Petrofac, is a new facility with cutting-edge technology. The institute can hold up to more than 600 students at one time and holds a unique proposition, where it blends interactive workshops, classroom, augmented reality (AR) and experiential training to provide trainees with a fast-track training solution; that meets the specialised labour demands in the oil and gas sector. After graduation, trainees can join any modern oil and gas facility, fully prepared to work. This qualifies TPO to be the only institute in Oman internationally accredited to provide vocational training programmes up to Level 3 Diploma.
