MUSCAT: ASME, IMechE, SPE and AIChE, professional student chapters of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department at National University, organised the 4th edition of Best Project Competition recently at CRI Building Lobby, Al Hail Campus, for its programme students.

This intra-departmental competition was held to choose the best level 4 technical project of the semester in each of the four UG programmes such as Chemical Engineering, Computer Aided Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, and Process Operation and Maintenance.

The main aim of the competition was to encourage College of Engineering students to take up the innovative, challenging projects and to instil the sense of competition. This event was envisaged to enable the student to showcase their technical skill in an open forum.

This competition enabled students to use and enhance their technical skills, competencies and presentation ability. It also paved a way for the students to build confidence in their practical work. The competition witnessed 35 participants exhibiting their graduation projects. The evaluation of the projects was done by experts including the external assessors.

Prof Dr Ahmed Hassan al Balushi, Dean of College of Engineering at National University, and Prof A Vallavaraj, Associate Dean, UG Studies, College of Engineering, National University, congratulated participants for their innovative project work.
