Muscat, The Board of Directors of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) held its first meeting this year under the chair of Sheikh Khalid bin Omar al- Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service and Chairman of the IPA Board of Directors.

The meeting reviewed the report on follow-up to the implementation of the decisions of the fourth meeting of 2018, what's related to the Institute's performance indicators for 2018 and the features of the action plan of the Institute for 2019.

Members of the Council were briefed on the comprehensive report of the Institute last year and its plan for this year.

The Board approved the proposed vision of the IPA Research and Management Studies Award in terms of the purpose and mission of the Award as a tool to support Omani administrative, field and applied research and studies and encourage the scientific research activities.

The Board discussed the role of the Institute in providing advisory services and its vision to enhance its status as a specialized house of expertise in the field of administrative and financial consultancy.  The board also discussed the proposed mechanisms for marketing the Institute's consultancy plan for the period 2019-2020, reviewed the new induction guide for the activity and the Institute's orientation to enter into partnerships with leading consultants to implement major consulting projects, including those related to Oman Vision 2040.

The Board reviewed the proposal prepared to organize the "Governance for Public Administration " conference in cooperation with the Arab Organization for Administrative Development (ARADO) and the Oman Centre for Governance and Sustainability, which aims at consolidating the concepts of governance and indicating their importance and application requirements in each activity.
