Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in the Sultanate, held a seminar on Japanese scholarships during which it showed a presentation at SQU on Japanese government grants and educational life in Japan.

The seminar highlighted the grants of Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for international students wishing to study in Japanese universities as research students in regular or irregular categories under the Japanese government scholarship programme. It is worth mentioning that the applications for the Japanese government grants for 2020 research students are now open. Candidates are expected to start their studies at Japanese universities from April or September 2020.

The Embassy of Japan accepts applications from Omanis only. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or should be graduating students.

They must be born on April 2nd, 1985 and onwards. The deadline for applications is June 2019. Application forms are available on website of the Embassy of Japan.
